Institute of Applied Equine Podiatry, Inc was founded in 1999 to provide innovative solutions for the international equine hoof health industry. As modern equine management practices evolve, there is a growing need for leading-edge information, training, products and equipment. With a sincere desire to make a positive impact in the equine hoof health industry, we focus on providing the right technology to meet the current demands and challenges facing today’s equine owner and professional. Meet our Staff
Our staff possesses over 80 years of combined experience in the hoof care industry.
Founder and Program Director - Keith "KC" La Pierre has over 35 years experience as a professional farrier. Mr. La Pierre is a researcher, published author, teacher, and lecturer. He has lectured at universities and conferences the world over, He has held courses and workshops in 8 countries with translations in three different languages, accumulating over 18 years of teaching experience.
Co-Founder, Dean of Admissions and Assistant Program Director -
Dr. Robyn Lord has over 18 years experience with the Institute. Dr. Lord has owned and cared for horses for over 30 years. She holds a doctorate in business administration from University of South Florida (USF). Her expertise within the equine business industry and the world of hoof care has made the introduction of a paradigm shift in the hoof care industry a reality. The shift in paradigm from the traditional model to a science based model has resulted in dramatic improvement in the quality of life of today's horse.
On-Line Instructor - Karen Beaumont, ADAEP has 10 years of experience working with the Institute. Karen is an accomplished equestrian, and practicing Applied Equine Podiatrist. She is a graduate of the Institute's Advanced Podiatry program and is licensed as an IAEP practical instructor.
On-Line Instructor and Associate Program Director - France, Xavier Meal, ADAEP has over 10 years of experience working with the Institute. Xavier is also an accomplished equestrian, a published author, and a practicing Applied Equine Podiatrist. Xavier has written a book on the subject of hoof care that is published in France. He works alongside KC La Pierre in developing educational programs that will best serve France.
